The characters are amazing. Jonas

Lauren Rowe’s “The Club” is the breathtaking first book in The Club Trilogy. It’s not your typical sex club book, by any stretch of the imagination. The characters are amazing. Jonas, the sexalicious leading man, lives to bring women to climax. Sarah, the intake agent for the club, is a complex and real leading lady who has never had an orgasm. Sarah starts out as Jonas’s “Mount Everest,” because who could resist the challenge of trying to make a girl have her first cum? I loved it. Sign me up for #2 and #3 for sure!

Lauren Rowe’s “The Reclamation” is the amazing second book in The Club Trilogy. Again, it was a break from your typical plot and I loved it. For instance, there was a situation set up where Jonas, the leading man, was doing something that could be misconstrued when Sarah, the leading lady, walked in on it. Now, in your average romance novel, she would have misunderstood and freaked out and been mad for another third of the book. But now with Lauren Rowe at the wheel! Sarah’s too smart for that! Again, the nookie was amazeballs throughout the book.

Lauren Rowe’s “The Redemption” is the third book in The Club Trilogy. Once again, it had some elements that were totally new to this sub-genre. I thought it was excellent. A great way to wrap up the series. Chock full of wonderfully hawt and lovie dovie sex scenes. I liked the references to recent popular songs as well. Now, when I hear them on the radio, I’m thinking of Jonas Faraday! He’s such a hottie!

Great Book for Part-Time Programmers

Firstly, this book covers Fortran 90 and 95 in great detail, offering many helpful suggestions to those who are used to older versions of Fortran, such as Fortran 77, and highlighting the differences between the 90 and 95 versions. Where this book shines is in the hundreds of examples of and bits of advice on good programming practice spread throughout the book. It's specifically tailored to those "part-time" programmers, scientists and engineers who do not come from a computer science or software engineering background. Most current (and new) Fortran programmers would benefit greatly by learning the programming style found here. I can't agree with all the advice, however, such as abandoning the basic "real" and "double precision" data types in favor of the new "kind" parameterized types. Still, the philosophy behind such advice is sound, and good programmers will know when and when not to use specific language features. One subject unfortunately missing from the book is programming for parallel processors, and other techniques to speed programs up. But most Fortran programmers don't need to worry about this subject and those who do can get O'Reilly's "High Performance Computing" and Jon Bentley's "Writing Efficient Programs". The examples and quizzes within, and the exercises at the end of, each chapter make this a great textbook. The appendices and index make it useful as a reference book. If you program in Fortran 90 or 95, I'd say this book is a must-have.

A beginner's review...

I am new to programming. I somehow missed picking up any language as an undergraduate and by the time I became a graduate student in physics I knew I needed to pick one up fast. I've tried many books but I just can't get through them. I usually don't make it past the 2nd chapter. There are many reasons for this but mostly the authors do not have enough examples and they tend to go off on tangents that detract from the lesson at hand. Recently I began a research project that used a ton of Fortran 90 legacy code and so I decided that I needed to try again. I got this book about a week ago and I am finishing chapter 5 at the moment. This book is great for learning how to program. It cuts right to the meat and gives well explained examples and quizzes throughout the book. I worked the examples and quizzes and a few problems from the end of the chapter after reading through it. If you are looking for a reference this probably isn't it. If, however, you are a beginner like me looking to learn how to program in Fortran 90/95 this is your book.

Great to learn Fortran

I have been using this text to learn Fortran 90/95. I have used Matlab significantly and understand very minimal C++. I find this book very useful and informative. It outlines programing pitfalls and tips for good programming practices. The examples are very easy to follow and the index is very usable. I would say this is a good book if you are just learning Fortran. Another thing I like about it is the fact that it has a chapter discussing older Fortran practices and the new/ modified commands. I have been using that section a lot to update an old Fortran 77 program I have. Overall it was well worth the $60 or so that I paid. There may be other references that are available online for free, but I like that I can highlight and write in a text, so I prefer printed material to online material.

Very poor. Great self praise, NO explanations of his levitations, dissapearance, etc. Only self praise & 40 cheap coin & card tricks found in any book on magic. The title is misleading & gives no real "revealing" of how walking on water, etc is done. Big dissapointment.

Cool book with bad language and boastful magician

I have some mixed feelings about this book. First off, for anyone interested in magic and Criss Angel, I would highly recommend this fascinating book. Autobiographical in nature, this is Angel's life uncut, uncensored and off the cuff. That being said, if you have a weak stomach or are easily offended, this book may not be for you. Angel can be a bit graphic with some of his effects and stunts, and the language he uses can be very course. Along with being a life story, this book has some great effects that can't be learned anywhere else, and I have read a lot of magic books. Angel is on top of his game no doubt, but at times he can come off as sounding prideful and arrogant. I guess I may be too if I were him, but his cockiness can get a little annoying. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clever book.

I used to be a huge fan of his until he went the way of the overhyped douchebag. I bought this book for two reasons: I still think he's hot, and tyhe book was bargain bin cheap. pretty awesome buy, I must say. The book was well written, informative, fun to read, and chock full of step by step illusions. Oh, and he's still pretty hot. I reccommend!

Yowza! Sky Corgan has gone and done it again! And just what has she done, you ask? She's dazzled her readers with yet another riveting serial and what a sparkler it is! Strife is her latest offering and will be released in multiple installments so be forewarned, there will be cliffhangers. Each book is a relatively quick read with only approximately 40 to 45 pages which makes it perfect for a quick break or lunchtime treat. Personally, I love the excitement and anticipation of a well written serial with a great oh my god cliffhanger and Sky Corgan is a master of her trade. She knows exactly how to tease, tantalize and titillate her reader for maximum effect in order to create the pinnacle of a wonderfully entertaining experience. Strife is an extremely well written dark and compelling romance with complex characters but what is most surprising in this story is the underlying element of humor which I find that I very much enjoy. The story is told in the first person by the two primary characters, Pepper Kimbrough and Dmitri Strife, with alternating his and her points of view by chapter which just happens to be my favorite style of storytelling. Although the story is classified as a dark romance, it's anything but gloomy. It's exciting, fast-paced, appealing, realistic, romantic and seductive. The characters as always shine brightly in Sky Corgan's work and these are no exception. They are fascinating, captivating, engaging, relatable, sexy as sin and sometimes quite humorous. Corgan skillfully combines these elements into an enticing and divinely entertaining experience for her readers.
Book One: Pepper Kimbrough came to Hollywood to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. That was Plan A. Unfortunately, Plan A hasn't worked out so well. Of course, neither has her life but she's managed to survive, albeit by the skin of her teeth. She may not be innocent and vulnerable but she's definitely desperate. And hence, her current predicament - down on her knees with her head in James Sumner's lap with her mouth on his.... well, you know where her mouth is. Yep, this is now her life and this is what loosely passes for a somewhat questionable interview for a job - or at least she hopes. No, life certainly isn't beautiful, not for people like her - at least not yet. Sometimes, it's as ugly as your own worst nightmares and this is definitely one of those times. The only question: Is Pepper strong enough to survive it??? The memories of her past say no but her determination and inner strength say yes. Now it's time for Plan B: Please this jerkwad Sumner, get the job as a call girl making $500.00 an hour, save her money, go to college, then become rich and famous. But is she really willing to sell her body as well as her soul to accomplish her dream and yet somehow, still hang on to her sanity? Or ultimately risk her sanity to fulfill her dream? She's been through worse and it's not forever, right? Right!? She can do this and stay sane; she could be a escort/call girl, couldn't she? It's actually rather ironic since she had actually grown up rich and now she's only one breath away from homeless and starving. This is all worth it, isn't it? With only $9.03 left to her name, it has to be. She no longer has a choice. Or does she???
Rock Star Dmitri Strife has conquered the musical stage and now he's ready to conquer the big screen stage in Hollywood with his first starring role as Brodie Grant in the upcoming new movie, Master of Payback. He's just arrived and it's his first night in "tinsel town". His friend John is surprising him with a night on the town and it does turn out to be quite the shock. Instead of going to a club, John is taking him to a private brothel with beautiful babes galore, all willing to submit to his every desire. Oh my! But Dmitri has had his fill of endless nights of booze, never ending parties and meaningless sex with women always looking to use him as a means for fame and fortune. He doesn't wanted to be caught up in that nightmare again and almost leaves - until he sees her - the beautiful, blonde that wanders onto the balcony where he's hidden in the shadows. She looks so innocent and so sad. He can't help himself; he needs to know her name. But surprisingly when he approaches her, she doesn't seem to recognize him. He just won't tell her who he really is so he tells her his name is Brodie Grant, the name of his movie character, instead. This night may work out after all. Hmmm.... I wonder?????
Book Two:
Pepper, who has been given the moniker of Alexis by her boss James Sumner, spent her first night as an escort talking with Brodie/Dmitri and NOT having sex. Huh? Nope, no sex. During their night together, Pepper/Alexis confesses to Dmitri/Brodie that she was adopted but the day after graduating from high school, her parents kicked her out with only $700 and said they never wanted to see her again. What the heck? Pepper feels like a complete failure after not being able to seduce Dmitri/Brodie and begins to have serious doubts as to whether she can actually continue this job but unfortunately she's out of options so it's this or starve. But Pepper soon realizes that she may be in way over her head. Thirty five year old Dmitri Strife is very much looking forward to meeting his co-star, Marie Overton. It has long been his dream to meet and woo the beautiful sophisticated movie star and knows this is the perfect opportunity. Apparently she doesn't feel the same since she didn't even bother to show up for the cast luncheon so there will be no date tonight with Marie Overton. So, what's a handsome, successful heartthrob to do??? Request another night with Alexis/Pepper, of course!!! Oh my! And still, no sex! But strangely, Dmitri finds that he enjoys being with Alexis/Pepper and is drawn to beauty and her innocence and is somewhat puzzled by his feelings toward Alexis. He knows an association with her could be dangerous for his career but he can't seem to stop himself. He convinces himself that it's just the easy camaraderie he experiences with Alexis and nothing more.
Book Three:
Dmitri has started filming and finally meets his co-star but at first, Marie seems mildly interested in him. She leaves before he can ask her out. But is he still interested in her? Or would he rather spend time with Pepper? Hmm...Is his interest due to sympathy for Pepper's plight or possibly or is it real friendship he feels for the lovely young Pepper? Or could it be something more??? But the feelings Pepper/Alexis feel for Dmitri are far from friendly. Pepper/Alexis enjoys her time spent with Dmitri and more than a little attracted to him. She hopes to see him again and a small thread of hope is born that maybe, he may just feel something for her other than physical desire. James informs her that Dmitri has indeed requested her company again for the night. I wonder if Pepper/Alexis will be able to seduce Dmitri this time??? And yes, Pepper/Alexis now knows that Brodie lied to her about his identity and is really Dmitri Strife! Oh my goodness!
Book Four: Dmitri finally has the chance to ask Marie Overton for a date - and she accepts. But the long awaited date falls short of his actual expectations. Despite their great on screen chemistry, Dmitri is just not feeling a real connection with Marie. It seems, all Dmitri can think about is Pepper. Yep, his thoughts are filled with everything Pepper. It's only been one night since they were last together but he wants to see her again. And it also seems that Dmitri may have finally realized that he wants to do so much more than just see her and be her friend. He wants the beautiful young Pepper but will she still be the same innocent escort? Or did she have a client last night? Dmitri doesn't want anyone else to have Pepper and he's shocked at his own self revelation. He wants to be the only man to touch her beautiful body. What's a rock star to do? Request another night with Pepper, of course! No matter the cost! This is their third night together, so will they or won't they? But will Pepper still want Dmitri when she learns of Dmitri's relationship with Marie Overton? I'll never tell! No spoilers from me but I will say this...Beautiful young woman who came to Hollywood to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress but has fallen on hard times and is now broke and almost homeless-check! Handsome rock star who is tired of his life as a famous musician and has come to Hollywood for his first starring role in a movie-check! An unexpected meeting of two lost souls-check! Heated attraction, a little heartbreaking angst and hopefully a sweet romance-we'll see! That and a whole lot more! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! I can hardly wait for the next installment!

Well this instalment was -for me- a bit more likable than the first 3 episodes. The story develops in a positive way and the characters take shape. I am still not a fan of this story. I hope it will develop to my liking.

Strife: Part Four

Pepper wasn't sure if she should be heartbroken that Dimitri did not request her again but she was happy to have the night off. She appeared the next night on time and James informed her she had to pay rent on the dress. She wasn't happy but he told her if she argued he would hae to dock her pay even more.

Dimitri had spend a night with Marie but wasn't at all comfortable with her as he thought he would be. And he thought about Alexia so he called and specified he wanted Alexia again. James fought with him telling him she had another client that night and Dimitri argued with him till he got what he wanted. And he told James he wanted her in a plain dress. By the time Alexia got to his hotel he was upset because the dress was still too much. He found out the dress was what James gave her to wear. He let her know he wanted her to wear something of her own. She called James and ordered the car telling him she had to change and put on something of her own. Then Dimitri talked to James specifying exactly that.

She goes home and most of her clothes are on her bed so she ends up putting on blue jeans and a shirt and returns. Dimitri seems pleased. Tells her to pour Champaign and sit down as he turns on the TV. He sits close to her and holds her hand while watching the show. He is more like a friend than a client who is supposed to be using her. She wants to seduce him but is afraid if she does he will turn her down again.

After the movie she is going to take the glasses to the kitchen but he tells her to go to the bedroom. She does but hesitates in the doorway and he comes up behind her and walks her into the room. She goes to her side of the bed and starts to undress but he says stop and tells her to take her shoes off and lie on the bed in her clothes. She pleads for him to touch her and he does. They kiss and then he acts like he is going to rool over and go to sleep. She tells him not to stop and not to tease her any more. So he agrees and ends up stripping her. The make love and it is nothing like any of her past experiences.

She has to go to the bathroom and while in there she sees his phone so she looks at it and finds a message from Marie about their lunch date and that she would like to go out again. She gets depressed and realizes that he is just using her. Even if she thought there was more to it than that. End of part 4. Short read and this one does more than just refer to sex but is very graphic in its depiction. Though she is thinking all the time and puts herself down in her thoughts while he is holding her up in his mind not wanting to push her to hard. The scene described is that of two people falling in love, though she doesn't believe it. And he doesn't realize he is falling in love with her instead of Marie. There is a lot of emotions and feelings in this story but of course it does contain explicit sex and therefore is for mature adults over the age of 18.

I really wanted to like this book. Charlotte and Nate seem like they were the perfect couple 15 years ago, both misunderstood and trying to avoid the mess caused by a parent. Nate had good intentions for breaking Charlotte's heart but as is common in romance novels the conflict could have been avoided by just talking. this usually isn't a problem for me but in this story the argument each side made for not talking were really flimsy.

If the story was longer I would have had a change to maybe identify with one of the characters, but as it stands there was a total lack of development. It feels like Nate and Charlotte are in love with the teenage versions of each other, and never got to know the adult versions. This may not matter do much if you're only looking for a quick read, but if you're looking for a book to love, this one is lacking.

This book came with warnings that it contained "lots of dirty sex", and I'm OK with that, but in the context of this story it seemed out of place and rushed. Not to mention the language was a bit crude and excessive.

All in all I didn't hate this book but I was disappointed. 2.5 Stars.

Can I get a ticket to Paradise??

When Charlotte comes back for their fifteen year class reunion, she feels instant heat the first time she sees Nate again. She wants him and realizes he still wants hers...so her plan for revenge should be easy. Until Charlotte finds out the reason Nate did what he did...Now revenge isn't looking so sweet. She plans on fessing up because Nate hates lies, but Nate's BFF Lexi interferes and gives him information about Charlotte that breaks Nate's heart...

Welcome to Paradise, kept me turning the pages, it is a great short story full of emotions, comedy and hot sex. I love the secondary characters and can't wait to read Owen and his assistant Maddie's story in Take Me Home Tonight.

Elle Kennedy has gives us the sexy Bishop brothers and even though we only meet Owen and Nate in WTP, I can tell she has us four super sexy brothers. BUT WAIT...there is the mysterious, uber sexy Cooper Grady as well and boy do I hope we get his story.

Welcome To Paradise is a fully fleshed short story that has me anxious to read the rest of the series.

Charlotte Hill is now a successful singer but still remembers growing up in Paradise and being bullied and tormented at school, and also loved and dumped by Nate Bishop. When she returns to town for their high school reunion, she has one thing on her mind and that's revenge.

Couples with a history reuniting is one of my favorite plots and this one didn't disappoint me. Throw in some dirty secrets from the past and a main character with revenge on her mind and you've got the making of some interesting reading.

I did have mixed feelings about Charlotte, probably because Nate was introduced in the story first. I liked him a lot, he came across as a nice guy so, when I found out what he did to Charlotte I became more sympathetic to her, but at the same time felt uneasy because she's about to go down a path she might later regret. The fact that she's going to use Nate like he used her had me turning the pages to see if it was true he really isn't the nice guy he seems, and what would happen to Nate when she does?

Once these two got together in some very steamy sex scenes, I had my doubts that Charlotte could actually go through with her plan. I had a feeling she was falling for Nate and, the way he's portrayed, I couldn't blame her for rethinking her devilish plot.

I liked the secondary characters in this story, too, but have to say Nate came across as my favorite. His and Charlotte's conversations are natural sounding and the plot is fast-paced enough to keep my interest.

If you like your stories packed with secrets, revenge and reading about two past loves rekindling their romance, I'd recommend this one to you.

It is certainly a "tome" Hard for an old lady to carry but I am geting through it mainly because my son told me I have to read it.He believes in reading the classics so even though I have read a lot of them, I am still buying the ones I have not from you

I bought the book because my son wants me to read more of the classics and this was one I had not read. It is very heavy (900 pages) but I am ploughing through it. Everyone should read the book I think.
