A Nice Fear For Many Travellers Short Story

A woman visits Italy to spread her father's ashes and start a short term piece of employment. However her cousin who was supposed to meet her is nowhere to be found. She decides to find a phone and call him but her plan is stopped short in the arrival hall by a handsome man. Unfortunately for her he is an airport policeman and she's got some explaining to do.
This is a standalone short story, the story does wrap up nicely, it certainly is not a taster as some other reviews have misleadingly written. It also isn't a Romance story as some have said which may also be putting some potential readers off. There's no Fifty Shades of Grey, or even looking lovingly into each other's eyes type action in these pages. You also don't get to see the canals, people, sites or city of Venice through the eyes of the narrator if you were after a travel tale for those purposes. Christmas in Venice is set entirely in the airport and other than that is the time of year the narrator travelled, that's as much it has to do with Christmas. It's a fun imagine if this was me experience type read, that many frustrated by delays and other things that go wrong when travelling, especially by plane can relate to, hoping it doesn't ever happen to them.
Christmas in Venice does use a bit of artistic licence, I can't imagine if they thought there was even a chance the threat was real they would allow people to stand around or even attempt to open a bag in this situation rather than simply destroying it. The policeman also first stops her only metres away from leaving her bag the whole scenario wouldn't have happened like that but this is a piece of fiction after all. It's an enjoyable five to ten minute at most read.

Her latest Christmas gift to us is the wonderful story, Christmas in Venice - and it is in it's brevity has given us everything a reader could want - a lovely girl coming to gorgeous Venice, a gorgeous policeman who has to stop her, and they leave us waiting for more!!!
Olivia Moretti is a Canadian of Italian descent. She has gotten a job in Venice where her fluency in several languages is key. She has just arrived into the Venice airport, deplaned, and she needs to go to, let's say, freshen up, and leaves her luggage with a kindly grandmotherly lady for a few minutes.
By the time Olivia comes back, the lady is gone, and this gorgeous policeman is having a cow over unattended luggage!!!! Moreover, Olivia's suitcase is making strange sounds!
The policeman, Alessandro Rossi, reads Olivia the riot act for leaving her suitcase alone - her alibi, the lady is gone - AND the luggage's strange sounds make Rossi go to extreme measures -
The story is a gift to the reader and shows the writing brilliance of Taylor and the fun that can be had by reading a small story and expecting BIG THINGS for the rest of the story.
A writer of several novels Falling For Rain and The Billionaire's Secret, Taylor deserves to be read and enjoyed and certainly this story, Christmas in Venice, brightens our hearts and want all to have a Buon Natale!!!!!

A good, quick read

I downloaded this to my cellphone. A perfect little read while waiting in the carpool line. Sweet characters, little plot twists to keep one reading on.
